Brooksville Announces the Next 9,980 Great Brooksvillians
The Great Brooksvillian nominating committee could not decide on just one great Brooksvillian. The city council also could not pick between the many great choices. They decided to compromise and name the next 9,980 Great Brooksvillians. This means that just about everyone living in Brooksville will have a turn at being named a Great Brooksvillian. In 11,005 AD they will be free to name who they want as the next great Brooksvillian.
Brooksville has an estimated population of 9,985, so there are five Brooksvillians they were able to agree were not Great Brooksvillians. Deciding on the five not to include was really easy, stated the councilman from seat 3. When I heard the recommendation my immediate reaction was yeah, they should not be great Brooksvillians.
The councilman for seat one said “we couldn’t decide who should be the next great Brazilian, so we decided that everyone should be and we’re only tying the hands of the city council for the next 9,980 years. It’s not like we are floating a bond for all that time. Actually, come to think of it, that is not a bad idea. We can pay for our infrastructure needs over the next 10,000 years.
Almost everyone in town was excited about having a turn being named the Great Brooksvillian. This accolade has really brought us together as a community, now if I can just live to 2735 Sarah Johnson exclaimed, I will be able to attend my recognition as the Great Brooksvillian.
With the ease that we had deciding on the five to not include, the council is thinking of creating a new award called the Not Great Brooksvillian. I think that it will be much easier for us to find a person who really stands out from the crowd said the councilman for seat 5.
