The Hernando County Professional Photographers Association held a mostly peaceful protest in front of Silverthorn for better lighting and different wallpaper. They were upset about having their pictures ruined by the difficult conditions at the clubhouse, a popular venue for weddings and community events. They are demanding that Silverthorn take drastic measures to improve the photographic atmosphere.
Mr. B suggested that the addition of stadium lights would produce much more light. “I understand that this would probably make the events quite warm and there would probably be a lot of sweating, but that is the price you pay for great pictures.” He stated it is easier to photograph a nighttime outdoor football game at any of the area high schools than it is to get pictures at Silverthorn.
William Jobson would like to see the wallpaper banished. That yellow-brown wallpaper is such a difficult color to photograph against. It always comes out looking brownish green in the photographs. Nothing looks good with a brownish-green background.
The protesters held up swatches of Sherwin-Williams paint with their favorite color alternatives. The swatches were much lighter than the current dark wallpaper. Colors favored by the photographers included eggshell, tans, and even a light blue.
The photographer protesters all agreed that the wallpaper and lighting must go. They demanded to know how many more wonderful events will not be recorded properly due to the terrible conditions.
