At the Brooksville Airport a new business has opened up called Confusing Directions. They make safety signs similar to Accuform, but their goal is slightly different, all of their signs in addition to showing safety information add a degree of confusion.
Justin Jeffers the founder of the company was inspired by the safety cards on Southwest Airlines, which show various crash landing scenarios on of which appears to show a lady braced for a crash with a baby on her back. It is actually supposed to show a lady braced for landing with a baby in the seat next to her in a rear-facing car seat.
He was inspired to create safety cards and signs that live up to this standard of explaining safety while secretly sowing confusion. “It is all great fun”, explained Justin.
“You all at Not the Sun should try it, you are great at fake news and confusing safety signs is at least a cousin of what you do”, stated Justin.
They are working on fire alarms that double automatic door openers as well direction signs with ambiguous arrows. All it takes is a purchasing director with a twisted sense of humor for us to make the sale”, said Justin.
Our goal is to make people stop and take notice. Safety signs are everywhere, but ours can stop you in your tracks as you try to understand them is how they explain their mission on their website.
