All over Hernando County children are excited to return to school. Fifth grader Richard explained that he was excited to hear his alarm clock again. All summer I miss that wonderful music. Johnny, also a fifth grader, was excited to return to school and bully Richard.
Samantha, an eighth grader, explained that she had missed doing math. “I spent all summer doing Sudoku, but it is not the same. I am excited to be learning algebra. My big brother told me this is when school really gets to be fun.”
Tenth Grader Jimmy was at the bus stop two hours early. “Getting up at four is a bit difficult, but I wanted to make sure I did not miss the bus. I want to make sure I get every minute of schooling I am entitled to,” he said.
The excitement was not just confined to the students, Mrs. Brown explained that her trip to Bali this summer was okay, but what was most exciting was returning to school. “I just cannot wait to continue imparting knowledge to my seventh grade English class. They are so well behaved and are like little sponges soaking up the lessons,” Mrs. Brown stated.
Even lunch lady Hannah was excited to return to school. “All summer I miss the plop of mashed potatoes on a plate. Finally, I get to see the bright young appreciative faces of the children when I provide them with their daily nourishment.”
Local resident William was happy for the return to school since now he can listen to a full podcast during his daily commute. During the summer he would have to split them up over several days and would often forget pertinent details from one day to the next. Now with following the school bus and school zones he will have significantly more time to enjoy the podcast.
Not the Sun was unable to find anyone who was not excited for the return to school.
