The Not the Sun did not pass a continuing resolution or a budget so we are not able to pay anyone until we are able to pass one of those two. The lunch restaurant did not appreciate us being unable to pay at this time even after explaining that once we pass a continuing resolution they will get back pay.
The coffee shop had a similar reaction, but we explained that this is how the US government is run and how can we not learn and mimic the richest democratic government in history. The coffee shop took back our coffee and chai tea and banned us for life.
It is not like Not the Sun isn’t working hard to resolve the shutdown. We have had lots of meetings and votes, but they keep coming in one for and one against. We just can’t agree on whether to purchase our own plane or use charter jets when we land our quarter of a billion dollar sale to CBS later in the year. This is a sticking point that no one is willing to give into the other side on.
The Not the Sun balance sheet is looking amazing after being shut down for two weeks. Everyone who works at Not the Sun is essential and therefore they are required to come in and work. Really the only thing that has changed is we do not pay them, because of the shutdown said assistant manager Marco.
The owners of Not the Sun love the way profitability has increased. In fact, they expect that the shutdown could drag on indefinitely.
