After reviewing some of the name image likeness deals other dads were getting, local dad will enter the portal for the third time this week. He is pretty confident in his dad bod and believes he will go third overall. This time he will finally find a family that is championship worthy. Jonathan Williams admits that his family has been holding him back and it was time for a change.
John’s current family has a couple of kids in college and that is really expensive. John explained that after you pay for the incidentals at college, he is barely making ends meet. He is definitely looking for a new opportunity where there are no kids in college. His dream family has a couple of young kids who help around the house, but are a few years from driving. “That way, I can enter the portal before I have to deal with teaching them to drive or paying for their insurance,” he said.
John found a local wing restaurant that would sponsor him with his new family in Springfield. He is in talks with a car dealership. If he can land a couple more sponsors, he says he is definitely in for this new family.
The founder of the Dad Portal, Missy Kelly, explained that college athletes are continuously changing teams for more money or a better situation and that she wanted to provide the same things for dads. “College athletes are not as important to the country as dads. Why should they be the only ones with a portal?”
Mrs. Kelly says the idea of the portal came to her when her husband Jim came home from a night of bowling, when the kids were home sick. She realized that Jim was not pulling his weight like Kevin up the street, so she created a portal and exchanged Jim for Kevin.
